The account must be in your name.
If you have more than 12 months of service history with Trico, you must have a good credit history as defined under Section 124 of Trico’s Rules, Regulations, and Line Extension Policies. This means that you may have no more than two (2) delinquent payments, nor have been disconnected for non-payment within the last 12 months. If you do not meet this credit criteria, you must agree to pay via one of Trico’s automatic payment plans in order to participate in Budget Billing.
If you have less than 12 months of service history with Trico:
You must have a paid deposit or qualifying letter of credit on file with Trico
You must agree to pay via one of Trico’s automatic payment plans
Your monthly Budget Billing amount will be based on the previous 12-months of usage at your address or the average monthly usage for Trico residential customers, whichever is higher. Note: The estimated monthly usage may vary from your actual usage.
Your account must be on a residential rate.
Other charges, such as security lights, will be added to your monthly budget amount.
You must select one of the two Budget Billing programs:
FIXED BUDGET -
This is the same amount every month. The amount is calculated once per year based on the previous 12 months. Your Member Representative will include the estimated PCA factor into your 12-month history when determining your fixed budget amount.
VARIABLE BUDGET -
This is not the same amount every month. The amount is recalculated every month based on the previous 11-month's kWh usage plus the current month's kWh.
**Both programs are reviewed each May for needed adjustments to correct the credit or deficit balance (over or underpayment).
Any balance due (credit or deficit) will be spread evenly over the next 12 months and added to future monthly bills.
You must pay your budget amount due each month. Failure to pay the budget amount due will result in delinquency and will impact your credit history with Trico.
**Failure to maintain good credit history, as defined under Section 124 of the Rules, Regulations, and Line Extension Policies, will result in immediate termination from this program. Your account will be returned to the regular billing plan. Payment arrangements and/or extensions are not available for accounts that have been removed from budget billing due to late payments.
Your account must be paid in full (zero balance) before Trico can process your Budget Billing request.
To realize the full benefit of this program, we suggest that you remain on the plan for a minimum of one year.
Monthly bills will reflect any credit or deficit balance and you are encouraged to review this information in order to ensure you are aware of changes in your electricity consumption.
If you elect to un-enroll from Budget Billling or are terminated from the program, your account shall not be eligible to re-enroll for a minimum of six (6) months from the date of termination. You must meet all eligibiltiy requirements to re-enroll.
