We’re thankful for your membership

Thanksgiving is full of family traditions, good food and coming together with those we love.

During this season of giving thanks, we want to let you know what an important impact you have on our Co-op and the greater community, in ways you may not even realize.

As a Cooperative, one of our core principles is “Concern for Community.” The Operation Round-up (ORU) program is the perfect embodiment of that principle. The average Co-op Member donates $6 a year. This may not seem like a large amount, but when you combine it with all your neighbors, it can change lives. Over the years, more than $700,000 have been collected and distributed for a variety of worthy causes throughout our service area. This can include helping a family in need after a house fire. Assisting the local food bank. Providing funds so that the local fire department can get a needed piece of equipment.

If you’re one of the Members who makes ORU possible, thank you. To show our gratitude, we’re offering a chance to win bill credits to Members who currently participate in ORU or who sign up by December 15, 2018. (Click here for more information.)

POWER Grants is another way we help the community. Twice a year Trico awards grants to non-profit organizations providing critical services. Since 2008, Trico’s POWER Grants program has provided more than $300,000 in funding to local non-profit organizations. In May, 16 organizations received a total of $40,000. An additional $40,000 will be awarded to local non-profits in December.

Trico partners with Wildfire (formerly Arizona Community Action Association) to provide financial assistance to Members in need. Arizona Self Help also offers assistance that may be in addition to the services provided by Wildfire. Arizona Self Help is a free and easy way to find out if your family can get help from 40 different health and human services programs. Click here to learn more about these assistance programs.

Many families go without on a daily basis and struggle to make ends meet. This struggle can be especially hard during the holiday season. If you are able, consider joining Operation Round-up by signing up here. Together, we can use a little pocket change to change our community.

From our co-op family to yours, we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.
