Pyers, Thompson elected to Board at Annual Meeting

The Casino Del Sol Resort Ballroom was filled with more than 700 Trico Members for Trico's Annual Meeting on April 20. The meeting included an election for two Board of Director seats, a tribute to former Trico Board President George Davies, a behind-the-scenes video about Trico, and a raffle drawing for great prizes.

Jim Pyers of Saddlebrooke, and Director Marsha Thompson were elected to the Trico Board of Directors. Mr. Pyers was one of five candidates running from District 7, which includes Saddlebrooke and Mt. Lemmon.

Mr. Pyers thanked the Members who voted for him.

"I appreciate their confidence and look forward to serving on the Trico Board," he said.

Director Thompson was re-elected to represent District 4, which includes the Sahuarita and Green Valley areas. Marsha has served on the Board for the past 12 years.

"I'm glad I get to work with the rest of the directors and I'm looking forward to working with Mr. Pyers," Director Thompson said. "I'm excited for the next three years and the forward movement that Trico is making on the electrical system and lowering the rates of the Members."

President Brad DeSpain presented George Davies with a plaque and an engraved glass bowl to commemorate Mr. Davies' 38 years of service to Trico.

Trico's GM and CEO Vin Nitido highlighted Trico's achievements in 2012, including:

• Lowered rates in the form of a Power Cost
• Adjustor (PCA) credit
• A new e-bill system
• Refinance of $75 million of debt to a lower interest rate, saving the cooperative $650,000 annually in interest
• Retirement of $1.5 million in capital credits

The meeting concluded with a raffle. Prizes included iPads, cash awards, one year of free Wi-POWER internet service, a gift certificate for an overnight stay at Casino Del Sol Resort, and a retired Trico truck. Rupert and Marian Brook of Saddlebrooke were winners of the truck giveaway.

"I was really surprised and thrilled," Mr. Brook said.
